FVWM: fvwm2 won't connect to terminal

What would cause this error to occur when fvwm2 is run instead of olwm, twm,
or mwm, all of which work fine in this circumstance?

(I'm running reflection X, but I get this error when using an ExploraPro NCD
as well)

[FVWM][main]: <<ERROR>> can't open display dihnen-pc:0

Any ideas?
