You dont say which fvwm version you are using.
fvwm -version will tell that information.

Fvwm usually comes with example configs so "locate fvwm2rc" should find
them if they exist on your system. Otherwise there are some useful
sample configs fairly well commented at
ftp://ftp.fvwm.org/pub/fvwm/devel/sources/sample.fvwmrc/

The syntax for each command is clearly defined in man fvwm2

Similarly man FvwmButtons and man FvwmBacker and man FvwmPager etc...
will tell you about all the module commands. Running xman is generally
the quickest way to find and browse the man pages of available commands
on your system.

There are usually example configs for each of the modules included with
each installation, try "locate ConfigFvwm" to find those files.
