I tracked it down via google, and since it was pretty difficult to find a
version that would compile correctly for me (Linux), I thought I'd post
the link I found for others to use:
http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/X11/Desktop/unclutter-1.08/
It's neither an XFree86 nor an fvwm option -- it's a standalone program.
And it works like a charm. :-)
