There are some tough applications when you try to change their settings.
xosview for example refused to accept anything I told it. I start it
this way now:
Exec echo 'xosview*background:' CBACK | xrdb -merge; exec /usr/X11R6/bin/xosview +load +mem -net -cpu -int -swap +page -geometry 100x50+0-0 -font FONTXXXS`
Sorry for the long line, but that's the way I do it. This way I can
modify its colours and font without restarting fvwm. Of course I have
to restart xosview.
I do quite a lot of this stuff. If you want I can send you my
config files, but I must warn you, they are quite complicated.
