Using both NoGeometry and NoDeskSort may lead to confusion. I put the
separators in to show different desks but using NoGeometry means you
can't tell what desk a window is in so the separators look arbitrary.
Using NoDeskSort means you get the windowlist in the order that fvwm
maintains it. New windows are added to the end of the list and the
currently focussed window is at the start of the list. You're right it
does look a bit odd if you have NoGeometry. I'll add a bug report (it
won't be fixed before 2.2). Try not using NoGeometry and it might be
clearer. This did change recently, it was so we could have reliable
alt-tab behaviour.

The Gnome hints will probably make it in some time after 2.2. They are
not very well documented and are probably subject to change. There is no
point chasing a headless chicken ;-)
