Well, easiest way: steal someone else's config.

Second easiest would be to use fvwmconf or the dotfile generator
(http://soliton.physics.arizona.edu/~lapeyre/fvwmconf/ and
http://www.imada.ou.dk/~blackie/dotfile/ respectively).
