If you want the button to do anything fancy, then the easiest solution
is writing a small X application that gets swallowed in the
fvwmbuttons bar. If you need sample code, then feel free to contact me
and I will send you a copy of my "isdnbutton" code. This is a small
application that displays some status information, reacts to various
mouse clicks and handles a popup menu. It also deals with the problem
of being a setuid-root application, but you can probably discard that
part of the code. In order to be highly portable, it is written in C
and uses the Athena widget set.
