I have seen this before, or something like it. Try rearranging your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH so that it uses a different ld.so I think. I don't
know so well the language, but I would be fairly certain that either
the libXpm.so is not in your library path or another library is
read before the one that fvwm2 was built with
