Thanks for the response,
I figured out the problem...
About a week ago, I upgraded my Motif to Red Hat Motif 2.0.
During the install, Red Hat overwrote several of the files
in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/config, particularly
Imake.rules
Project.tmpl
linux.cf
site.def
By putting these back to the originals, I was able to
compile with no problems. I am running XFree86 3.1.2E
which is X11R6.1. I suspect that imake may be slightly
incompatible with previous versions, thus the motif changes
(dated Jan and Mar 1995) did not work. Have contacted
Red Hat.
Thanks...
Joel
