My point was not adressed to you personnally
It is just that 2.5 has been in the works quite a long time, and
there is no end in sight.
  Since it is considered unstable, it is not packaged for many
distrib, including the one I use (Mandrake). Though someone gave me
some brief instructions, it was not precise enough for me to follow.

I just cannot afford the time to guess how I am supposed to compile
things, with the right environment. I do other things to contribute
to free software, and any time I spend on this is essentially wasted
(since it is of use only to myself). I understand that real men use
only Debian ... well I am not one of them.
