Probably, somebody using the same OS can give you a binary.

If you're not a programmer, don't bother make, c and such.
You won't understand a word of it.
And what's more, you will have to make changes to makefiles and probably even
to the source code just to get it running on your specific system.
If you're using Linux anyway, it won't hurt (not to say it's crucial) learning
how to program in C.
